How safe are you while surfing on the web?

Have you ever wanted to know what others can find out about you while you're surfing the web?

Many times, we tell our children to not tell anyone where they live or tell anyone their name. But you may be giving out this information to others without even knowing it.

The purpose of this section of my website is to help inform you of the information others see when you visit their websites. I will show you as much as I know about, and as I learn more, I will add it to this section. This is not a comprehensive list of everything others can see about you, but it should at least give you some ideas.

Can I See Where You Live?

What should you look for? Take a look at the information below. Look through your Host Address to see if it displays the city in which you live or live close to. If it does, I will know what city you live in. Even if your Host Address doesn't display the city in which you live, I am sure people can look up the information by using the IP Address. The only way around this is to use an ISP in a city other than where you live. Unfortunately, that is usually not a practical option.

Your IP Address is:

Your Host Address is:

When is this information given out? This information is given out every time you visit a Website. It is also included with every message you post in a newsgroup or send via email using your ISP and can be seen by others when you are in a chat room.

What can you do? There is nothing you can do about visiting websites. For newsgroup messages and email, you can use an online mailer such as Yahoo Mail.
